日本語 — the road to N2

Where to start

You hold N3 already, so this is not a re-teach. The plan is:

  1. Diagnose. Run the N3 grammar drill right through. It finds the holes.
  2. Patch. Only the points you missed come back, and they come back often.
  3. Build N2. Two new grammar points a day, reviews daily, kanji on a drip.
  4. Listen every day. It decays fastest and it carries a hard 19/60 floor.

About the levels

There is no official JLPT word, kanji or grammar list. The Japan Foundation withdrew theirs in 2010 and never replaced it. Every list you have ever seen, including this one, is reverse-engineered from past papers. Treat the levels here as a sensible study order, not as a syllabus you can finish.
